Well, I was running my own video marketing business at the time – specifically producing media for the web.
That’s when it hit me! If I could just tell a bedtime story in front of a camera, then my niece could watch me on
the computer. She would actually recognize me when I came to visit and I could play a role in her development,
from so many miles away.
Afterall, there’s a reason why bedtime stories have been around for centuries - long before bubble gum flavored
toothpaste. Not only is reading daily an essential part of a child’s development, but what we read or illustrate
on the page of a book is like that explosive stuff on the tip of a match - share a story with a child and you
spark a bright and brilliant fire inside their imagination. For a few moments each night, you are so much more
than a storyteller, you are a superhero with the power to take a child to another world. And it doesn’t end with
just the present generation – now your storytelling can touch your family for years to come, as your recordings
become precious family keepsakes for future generations to watch.
So you can see how easy it was to articulate our simple Mission: Create Happy Moments. That’s how it worked
for both me and for my nieces, and we hope you can uncover more happy moments in your family, too!
Perhaps the best part about our Mission is to reach children beyond your own family. Children that are stuck in
the hospital, or far away from their family serving overseas in the military, are all in need of simple happy
